After a long absence from blogging, I am back today writing a blog post as I’m chasing two toddlers now. Please welcome our baby Zoey!
WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN
Hello, friends!
It’s been more than two years since I’ve posted a recipe on this blog. I can’t believe I took such a long break from posting anything here, especially since I posted several times a week for more than three years prior. I remember taking a break when I was pregnant with our first child Tihon and this time around I felt the need to reconnect with my family once again. I’m sure some of you can relate.
Back in July, 2019 we were so thrilled for the gift of another precious baby. Every day we experience so much happiness as a family of four and are so grateful for God’s goodness in the life of our family.
Baby Zoey is now 1 year old. She is such a lovable, sweet girl, who loves chasing her older brother all over the house and getting into any cupboards and drawers that aren’t locked up. I share little bits of our daily life on Instagram stories.
Everything felt so different than what it was just three short years ago. I find myself looking around at my messy house strewn with little toddlers “treasures”, and can’t believe that this is my life now. Going on walks with a smiling baby in the stroller and a curious toddler riding his scooter next to me is a dream come true. As we stop every 5 seconds to pick up rocks and sticks I am learning the world through childhood lenses once again. In these simple life pleasure I am reminded over and over again, how amazing it is that I get to experience the miracle of being their mama.
And then 2020 came and things got a little wobbly for everyone, didn’t it?
The news keep changing every day with updates on the novel coronavirus: school closures, job losses and economic instability. Not being able to travel and see loved ones. As well as the main event of a very real public health crisis.
One thing that remains predictable in all of this?
You need to eat. ♡
We all need to eat.
People need food, for their physical health, and I think also for nourishing their souls. And in a time where so much feels like it’s just hanging on by a thin thread, making and eating food can be a way to pause, put our feet on the ground and hug your family. Not thinking about future too much. Just a deep breath and lots of good food on the table shared with your loved ones. Because making food is very present.
It feels so good to be writing a blog post. It’s like coming home after a very long journey. Thank you for your patience and understanding as I ease my way back to sharing recipes with you once again.
